MOSCOW, April 17 (Itar-Tass) —— A delegation of the Syrian ‘inner’ opposition met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday to discuss the fulfillment of the Syrian settlement plan of UN/LAS Envoy Kofi Annan and the ceasefire in Syria, member of the Syrian National Coordination Committee Abdul-Aziz al-Khair told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
“It was a very successful meeting. We discussed the plan of UN/LAS Envoy Kofi Annan and our ideas about the Syrian future. We also discussed what should be done to ensure the implementation of the Annan plan and the ceasefire,” he said.
“We considered possible efforts of Russia and the Syrian ‘inner’ opposition and cooperation options,” al-Khair said.
He also said they discussed the future of Bashar al-Asad. “That is a question of the future. It is the most important now to cease fire,” he remarked.
