Russia to make creative approach to Iran’s n-problem

Moscow and Teheran have many centuries of close relations to share

MOSCOW, April 17 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia will make a creative approach to resolving problems over the Iranian nuclear program, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told a news conference at Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

“The faster the problem over Iran’s nuclear problem is resolved, the better for Iran and for Russia, bearing in mind our history and regional interests,” the senior Russian diplomat said. “Moscow and Teheran have many centuries of close relations to share. Therefore, naturally, we are interested in a positive solution.”

“We shall make a creative approach and do our utmost to ensure all problems on this track should be resolved,” Ryabkov said, when asked what steps Russia might take by the Baghdad round of negotiations by the sextet of international mediators (five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany) with Teheran due on May 23.
