BAKU, April 16 (Itar-Tass) — Construction of the Baku Cristall Hall, which will host Eurovision Song Contest 2012, has been completed, the executive director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, an official partner of the contest, said at a news conference on Monday.

A grandiose arena for 25,000 seats has been built, Anar Alekperov announced. He said in the future the hall will be used for concerts and sports events.

Baku Cristall Hall was built on the Caspian coast within a record short period of three months. It has unusual design, and a lot of luminous crystals are installed on its fa·ade. Besides, it will be lit by numerous installations making it possible to create different effects.

Construction of the press centre built not far from the concert hall is nearing completion, Alekperov said. He said 775 reporters will be able to work there simultaneously. It will have quick access to the Internet and all necessary equipment.

Meanwhile, the system of issuing visas for participants and guests of the contest in a simplified procedure has already been launched in Azerbaijan. All of them will receive visas directly at Baku’s international airport.

For that they must produce an official invitation of the organizing committee, the document confirming their accreditation as well as tickets or a document confirming the purchase of tickets to song contest concerts.
