Russian-Chinese naval drills to exchange information in Russian

Such a decision was taken at the final consultations between the Russian and Chinese navies

MOSCOW, April 16 (Itar-Tass) — Russian and Chinese navies will use the Russian language to exchange information during an active phase of their joint naval exercise, Russian Defence Ministry spokesman said on Monday.

“Such a decision was taken at the final consultations between the Russian and Chinese navies last week,” he said.

The naval drills will be conducted in the Yellow Sea from April 24 to April 29. Warships of the Pacific Fleet will represent Russia at the exercise.

“The joint naval exercise will take place within the framework of principles of strategic partnership reached by the two countries’ leaders. During the exercise servicemen will master joint sea operations, prevention of armed conflicts in the two countries’ exclusive economic zones and protection of sea communications,” the spokesman said.
