MOSCOW, April 16 (Itar-Tass) — Police are checking the information that Khimki forest defender Alexei Dmitriyev, who with injuries is hospitalized, has been beaten up, a Moscow regional police official told Itar-Tass on Monday.
Yevgeny Gildeyev, the head of the Moscow regional police department's press service, said that police had received a telephone message from the Khimki hospital about Dmitriyev's hospitalization. According to Dmitriyev, he was beaten up at a staircase in a building.
Policemen went to the hospital to question him. It will be decided whether to open a criminal case in this connection.
According to the preliminary information, the forest defender has injuries of moderate severity. He has not filed a complaint yet.
