Sverdlovsk Region's government resigns

The governor announced the decision to nominate Vladimir Vlasov for the post

YEKATERINBURG, April 16 (Itar-Tass) — The Sverdlovsk Region's Governor Alexander Misharin on Monday accepted the resignation of regional government head Anatoly Gredin, who held the office since December 2009.

Misharin accepted the resignation Gredin submitted on April 14, a source at the gubernatorial information department told Itar-Tass.

The governor announced the decision to nominate Vladimir Vlasov for the post. Vlasov was first deputy chairman of the regional cabinet. He is appointed acting cabinet head.

In accordance with the regional charter, all the members of the government resigned on Monday together with the chairman. Before a new government is approved, they are appointed as acting ministers by the governor's decrees. A new cabinet head, after the candidacy is approved by the legislature, will present candidates to form a new government.

According to Misharin, after the elections to the State Duma and the presidential elections, the Sverdlovsk Region is faced with tasks to have a new development level and fulfill the serious obligations assumed by the authorities to the region’s residents.

The work of the executive authorities must be corrected with the last requirements taken into consideration, the departmental source noted.
