Forest fire hazard announced in Primorye region

The local administration has imposed restrictions on access to forest and has forbidden to make camp fires

VLADIVOSTOK, April 15 (Itar-Tass) — A forest fire hazard has been announced in Russia’s Primorye region.

The local administration has imposed restrictions on access to forest and has forbidden to make camp fires. Other anti-fire measures include creation of additional stocks of water, restoration of mineralized fire breaks and the introduction of a ban on fire hazardous works.

A total of 84 forest fires have been registered on an area of 1,294 hectares since the start of a fire-hazardous season. More than 400 people and 47 equipment units have been called in to extinguish the wild fires, the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations reports.
