Sovcomflot tanker attacked in Togo, Coast Guard deters attack

The crew took refuge in the ship shelter following the company administration’s instructions

MOSCOW, April 13 (Itar-Tass) —— Armed robbers attacked the SCF Provider tanker of Russia’ Sovcomflot Group in the Lome port harborage, Togo in Western Africa, the company said.

The Coast Guard deterred the attack at 3:30 GMT. The crew took refuge in the ship shelter following the company administration’s instructions. The crew is not hurt, and the cargo is intact. The ship is not damaged, and the cargo handling operations continue.

Sovcomflot is a world’s leading shipping group with the focus on transportation of crude, petroleum products and LNG.
