KIEV, April 13 (Itar-Tass) —— Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich did not justify hopes of Ukraine and the European Union, head of the EU delegation to Ukraine Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira told the Ukrainian magazine Correspondent on Friday.
In his words, Yanukovich inspired many with his declarations of reforms and order he would ensure with the power vertical and both Ukraine and the EU believed him but, unfortunately, he did not justify the hopes.
The diplomat said that the Ukrainian anti-corruption struggle had been unsuccessful so far. He said he would be the first to welcome any tangible results of the anti-corruption measures but the situation appeared much worse than it was in the so-called chaotic period after the Orange Revolution.
