MOSCOW, April 13 (Itar-Tass) —— It is necessary to make sure that Iran's nuclear programme has no military dimension, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters aboard the plane on the flight from Washington to Moscow.
There is understanding that the movement should be in stages. Russia and the United Sates have a common goal to make it fully clear about Iran and be sure that the programme has no military dimension, Lavrov stressed. The IAEA should deal with it, he said.
"We with Hillary Clinton talked about the situation around Iran's nuclear programme. We place certain hopes on the meeting of the six parties and Iranian representatives, which will be held in Istanbul on April 14."
"The Iranian negotiators stated before the meeting in Istanbul that they would come with new initiatives on the situation settlement. I think it is not a bad approach," the minister noted.
"We, as well as the United States, have concrete ideas on how to move state by stage and on condition of mutuality, that is on the "action for action" basis. Iran makes a step and the Group of Six meets halfway to the Iranian concerns," Lavrov said.
