MOSCOW, April 12 (Itar-Tass) — Russian TV presenter Vladimir Ukhin died at the age of 81 on Thursday, Russia’s Channel 1 said in the Vremya news program.

Generations of Russian TV viewers knew Ukhin as “Uncle Volodya” from a long-running children’s TV program “Good Night, Little Ones!”

Ukhin, who bore the title of Merited Artist of Russia, had presented the children’s show until 1995. Later on, he traveled on guest tours all across Russia together with his TV characters: dog Filya, piglet Khryusha and rabbit Stepashka, the Ekho Moskvy radio station reports.
