NAZRAN, April 13 (Itar-Tass) —— Police in the volatile North Caucasus republic of Ingushetia surrounded and opened fire at a group of militants near the settlements of Muzhichi and Galashki in Sunzhen district late on Thursday.
Mortar fire was used against estimated 7-12 bandits and some were reported killed and wounded. There were no losses among police.
At present the operation has been suspended until dawn. Police said it blocked all possibilities for the militants to escape.
