MOSCOW, April 11 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia has everything necessary to make a cardinal breakthrough in settlement of the "eternal" housing problem, Putin declared, speaking at the State Duma on Wednesday.

"Most of the families in Russia should have a real opportunity to buy housing with state support due to an affordable system of mortgage credits, development of individual and cooperative housing construction and formation of a segment of affordable housing to rent, " Putin said.

The volume of housing construction resumed its growth in 2011; we have reached a maximum level of more than 780,000 apartments built since 1990, Putin said.

We have set the task to increase by 1. 5 times the volume of housing construction by 2015 to the level of 90 million square meters per year or approximately 1.5- two million new apartments and houses per year, Putin said.
