Belarus refuses from Chinese services to modernize Minsk airport

The directorate of the Minsk national airport has developed its own concept for further modernization

MINSK, April 11 (Itar-Tass) —— Belarus abandoned the cooperation with China over the implementation of the project to modernize the Minsk national airport, the deputy director of the aviation department of the Belarusian Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications, Vladimir Kostin, told a press conference on Wednesday.

“As for the national airport, it is being modernized. We were planning to implement the investment agreement with China to build a second runway and a new terminal. But on the circumstances not depending from Belarus we suspended cooperation with them,” he said.

However, the directorate of the Minsk national airport has developed its own concept for further modernization of the current airport building and the construction of the second runway.
