MOSCOW, April 11 (Itar-Tass) — A Just Russia faction at the State Duma lower house of the Russian parliament intends to demand the resignation of Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev.
Party leader Sergei Mironov said the faction would submit the draft statement insisting on Nurgaliyev's resignation for consideration by the State Duma Council on April 12.
"We'll submit the draft on Thursday," he said.
On April 13, Nurgaliyev is expected to answer lawmakers' questions during the "Government Hour" session. The minister was invited to the parliament after the incident at the Daly police station in Kazan, in which a detainee died in hospital after being tortured by several police officers.
