TROITSK, Moscow region, April 9 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Monday ordered the country’s government by the end of the month to issue all necessary legal documents related to Moscow’s territorial expansion.
“The government must issue all necessary documents by May,” he said.
Medvedev also said Moscow’s enlargement experience might be later used in other regions to create a more favourable living environment.
“We want Moscow to increase its contribution to the country’s innovative development. The capital city is tasked to formulate standards of favourable investment climate and high-quality living environment,” he said.
For these purposes, he noted, it is necessary to modernize the research and industrial potential and to create an innovation infrastructure. “That is why the Skolkovo research hub and the Troitsk science city will be incorporated into Moscow’s boundaries,” Medvedev said.
He also said that a priority task in terms of the development of Moscow’s new territories was to build big university and medical research centres there.
“It goes without saying, that they, like other Moscow-based higher education and medical institutions, will work for the entire country,” he stressed.
