MADRID, April 9 (Itar-Tass) —— Spain’s Iberia Airlines cancelled all flights to Moscow on Monday over a strike of pilots, the air carrier said in a statement.

The Iberia trade unions intend to carry out another 30 protest actions in next three months. They will go on protest actions each Monday and Friday starting from April 9 to July 20. On the first day of new wave of protest actions (on April 9) 156 flights will be cancelled, particularly international flights, including flights to Moscow.

These protest actions pose a threat of 90 million euros of losses to the Iberia air carrier. To minimize the losses from the protest actions, Iberia signed last winter the agreements with other air companies to bring the passengers by alternative flights to the destination sites. However, this measure will hardly be helpful, because there are almost no vacant air tickets for the Easter holidays. Madrid will provide thousands of hotel rooms for those, who have to postpone the flight date.
