ASTANA, April 6 (Itar-Tass) —— Member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) have agreed their positions on the situation around Syria and Iran, secretary general of the organization Nikolai Bordyuzha said on Friday after a meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers.

“Today’s meeting was very fruitful,” he said. “We discussed the most acute issues, exchanged our views on problems of Afghanistan, on the situation in Iran and Syria, on sanctions against Belarus, and on the development of the situation in the Caucasian region.”

According to the CSTO secretary general, the meeting helped the member states of the organization “square their positions, understand each other’s stances and outline steps to be made in order to coordinate joint efforts in respect of the threats facing the states.”
