A Just Russia leader threatens expulsion of deputies who supported Shoigu

Earlier in the day, the Moscow region legislature unanimously approved Shoigu as Moscow region governor

MOSCOW, April 5 (Itar-Tass) — A Just Russia leader Sergei Mironov said the Party members in the parliament of the Moscow region, who supported the candidacy of Emergency Situations Minister Sergei Shoigu for the post of Moscow region governor, should be expelled from the Party.

"If the Bureau /of the Central Council/ decides not to support a governor, but Party members still vote for him, this means they are not Party members any more," Mironov said in comments on the Thursday meeting of the Chamber of Deputies under A Just Russia.

"We'll make the relevant decision," he said.

Earlier in the day, the Moscow region legislature unanimously approved Shoigu as Moscow region governor. He was supported by all the 46 deputies present at the meeting /four factions in all: United Russia, A Just Russia, the Communists /KPRF/ and the Liberal Democrats /LDPR/.
