The Russian base in Kyrgyzstan is not a favor to anybody, said the minister

BISHKEK, April 5 (Itar-Tass) —— The military base in the Kyrgyz city of Kant has no secret aims and meets the interests of all CSTO participants, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday commenting on the results of talks with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbayev.

“The Russian base in Kyrgyzstan is not a favor to anybody,” the minister said. “It is situated here first of all in the interests of Kyrgyzstan itself, in the interests of calm in the Central-Asian region.” “It has no secret aims,” the Russian foreign minister said. “It meets the interests of all CSTO member-states, not only Russia.”
