Fisherman detained at Primorye coasts for illegal fishing

No allowance for fishing in Russian territorial waters has been presented

VLADIVOSTOK, April 5 (Itar-Tass) — Fisherman Shane under the flag of Sierra Leone has been detained at the coasts of Primorsky Territory (Primorye) for illegal fishing, the press centre of the Russian FSB territorial border department told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

The ship has been detected in the Russian territorial waters abeam Belkin Cup by the Manchoo patrol vessel. The schooner refused to bend to demand stop and tried to disappear. But it has been detained after a short chase.

Fragments of crab and benthos, as well as equipment for fishing and transportation of crab, have been found aboard the schooner. No allowance for fishing in Russian territorial waters has been presented.

At present, the schooner is convoyed to the port of Nakhodka for the investigation. The crew involves 13 Russians and a citizen of the Republic of Korea.
