Annan’s mission in Syria makes progress

Gennady Gatilov wrote on his Twitter account on Tuesday

MOSCOW, April 3 (Itar-Tass) — Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov has noted some progress in the mission of UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan.

“Kofi Annan reported to the UN Security Council about the beginning of his mission in Syria,” the diplomat wrote on his Twitter account on Tuesday. “There are problems, but there is also some progress. This trend should be actively supported by everyone.”

Earlier the UN-Arab League envoy accepted an April 10 deadline for Damascus to start implementing a peace plan. Annan addressed members of the Security Council with a request to help him implement this roadmap.
