German publishing house to release Gorbachev’s autobiography

The book will be released next February

BERLIN, April 3 (Itar-Tass) — Germany’s Hoffmann und Campe Verlag bought exclusive rights to publish an autobiography by the first and last president of the Soviet Union, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Mikhail Gorbachev, an official from the publishing house said.

“This multipage work has almost been completed. This is a detailed description of his life from childhood to his highest position in the country,” the official said noting that the book will contain “photos that had never been published.”

Hoffmann und Campe Verlag added that “Gorbachev started writing his biography after the death of his wife Raisa Gorbachev in 1999.”

The book will be released next February.
