Dniester republic hopes for partner relations with Moldova’s new president

Yevgeny Shevchuk expressed the hope that his republic will be able to build partner and mutually beneficial relations with Moldova

MOSCOW, April 3 (Itar-Tass) — The Dniester republic hopes for partner relations with Moldova’s new president, leader of the Dniester republic Yevgeny Shevchuk told a news conference at Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

“I hail that our neighbors have finally formed state power bodies in line with the Moldovan constitution,” he said. “Now we can expect a clear position on relations with the Dniester republic.”

He expressed the hope that his republic will be able to build partner and mutually beneficial relations with Moldova. “We propose the tactic of ‘minor steps’ that, for instance, will provide for simpler border crossing procedures,” he noted.
