MOSCOW, April 3 (Itar-Tass) — Twelve people were killed in a fire that broke out at the construction market in southern Moscow, the press service of the capital’s emergencies department told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
The fire ripped through a two-storey building adjacent to a hangar on the territory of the Kachalovsky market on the Varshavskoye highway at 05:00 Moscow time.
Law enforcers reported with reference to the market’s administration that there could be 15 workers inside the burnt building that served as a hostel.
“According to the preliminary information, the fire can be caused by malfunction of electric appliances or short circuit,” the source said.
