Russia opposes new sanctions against Iran -- Lavrov

That’s not how partners should do it,” Lavrov said

YEREVAN, April 2 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia opposes new sanctions against Iran, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

“Attempts to impose new unilateral sanctions upon Iran by the United States, Japan, some European and other countries are unacceptable. That’s not how partners should do it,” Lavrov said in response to questions at Yerevan State University on Monday, April 2.

He believes that there should be a stage-by-stage a settlement plan for Iran and sanctions should be lifted gradually in response to Tehran’s steps.
