MOSCOW, April 2 (Itar-Tass) —— A Russian emergency airplane with two heavily ill Russians landed at the Moscow airport Domodedovo, a source in the Russian Ministry of Health and Social Development reported on Monday. Medics of the Russian ministry were accompanying Russian tourists, which fell ill during the vacations in the Indian state Goa and were brought back to Russia from the airport of the city Dabolim by the Russian emergency airplane on Sunday.
Russian diplomats assisted to bring a resident of the city Ivanovo Mikhail Zhilov, who got a spinal injury in India, right onboard the airplane, and an official of the Russian General Consulate in Mumbai saw a heavily ill Muscovite Yulia Nechayeva to the airplane, an official of the Russian General Consulate in Mumbai Roman Vorobyev told Itar-Tass.
“The tourists, their friends and relatives accompanying them were given the all-round assistance to pass all migration procedures and got the medical support,” Vorobyev said. The Russian General Consulate and the Goa authorities and the law enforcement agencies decided Sunday to arrange for the departure of the Russian tourists timely. Several dozens of thousands of Russians visit the Goa resorts annually.
