Deputy of municipality Urlashov leading in Yaroslavl mayoral polls

Urlashov gained 69.6% of votes after 90% of votes had been counted

YAROSLAVL, April 2 (Itar-Tass) —— A deputy of the Yaroslavl municipality and an oppositionist Yevgeny Urlashov is leading at the mayoral elections in Yaroslavl from two candidates, which were running for mayor in the second round of the elections.

Urlashov gained 69.6% of votes after 90% of votes had been counted at 23:00 Moscow time on Sunday. His rival and a businessman Yakov Yakushev polled 27.2% of votes.

The turnout has made a little more than 40% as it was forecasted. A candidates was to gain a simple majority of votes in the second round for the victory.

Over 40 complaints came to the police from people about violations, particularly illegal canvassing for a candidate and attempted bribery during the elections. All these complaints were put under control and are being checked, the press service of the regional police reported.

Over 1,000 observers, including representatives of various public organizations from Moscow, are monitoring the elections.
