VLADIVOSTOK, March 30 (Itar-Tass) — Russian border guards have arrested in Russia’s territorial waters in the Sea of Japan (East Sea) the Fukuoshi ship flying the flag of Cambodia and the Korus-1 ship under the flag of Sierra Leone. They were engaged in poaching. The border guards found live crab on the Fukuoshi, and on the Korus-1 - about 2.5 tonnes of frozen Alaska Pollack, herring and squid. Both vessels are equipped for fishing and transportation of live crab.
The press service of the Nakhodka Customs reported on Friday that both crab fishing vessels crossed the customs border of Russia without the permission set by law. Administrative offense cases were opened against the captains. They are facing for this offence a fine of up to three times the cost of the vessels and their possible confiscation. The Fukuoshi crew consists of citizens of Russia, and the Korus-1 - of Russian and foreign fishermen.
