MOSCOW, March 29 (Itar-Tass) —— The Defense Ministry has increased wages to servicemen, drafted for compulsory military service, from 600 to 2,000 roubles, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Colonel-General Vasily Smirnov told journalists on Thursday.
The money will be put on the servicemen's banking cards which will be handed in to the servicemen at call-up centers, Gen Smirnov said. This will enable to ensure timely and full pay through the United Accounting Center established by the Defense Ministry, he said.
The technologies were well-considered and arise no concern. If a private loses his banking card he will have it reinstated after an investigation, Gen. Smirnov said.
