IRKUTSK, March 27 (Itar-Tass) — The regional department of the Investigative Committee /SK/ opened a criminal case in connection with a dramatic worsening of small children's health at hospital # 3 in the town of Bratsk.
On Saturday, ten children under two years of age were rushed to the infectious disease department of the hospital. The parents later complained that the children’s condition had sharply deteriorated after medical treatment, with the children showing similar symptoms.
Five children were transferred to an IT ward of the local children's hospital. On Sunday, they felt better and were brought back to the infectious disease department. Regional public health minister Dmitry Peven confirmed that the children had been given a antibiotic with excessive concentration of lidocaine.
