SEOUL, March 26 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Monday the time to resolve missile defence issues was not lost, although Russia and the United States stick to their positions.

“We mentioned that the time was not lost and that cooperation and discussion of all aspects related to the implementation of the idea on missile defence in Europe should be more active,” he told reporters after the talks with his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama.

“We agreed that at present the time is for special technical experts to work,” he said.

“Of course, in any case we stick to our positions – Russia to its position and the United States – to its own, but the dialogue on the issue is not only possible, but is necessary,” Medvedev said.

“If to speak absolutely directly, we still have time to agree and come to a well-balanced solution, bearing in mind good experience that we with Barack have accumulated while preparing the strategic arms reduction treaty. And I hope that this experience will be used to find a solution to this rather uneasy problem,” he said.

The Russian leader arrived in the South Korean capital to participate in the second Nuclear Security Summit on Monday.
