MOSCOW, March 26 (Itar-Tass) —— A US missile defence system, which is planned to deploy in Europe, will not be targeted against Russia and has no capability against Russian missiles, US Ambassador in Russia Michael McFaul believes.

“Our missiles planned for basing in Europe will not be aimed at Russia and have no capability against Russian missiles,” McFaul wrote down in his Twitter microblog on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said at a scientific-practical conference of the Russian council on international affairs entitled “The Euro-Atlantic security community: myth or reality” last Friday that the guarantees for the US missile defence system not to be targeted against Russia should be fixed in a document rather than friendly talks.
