MOSCOW, March 23 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev believes that it is necessary to rule out “any loopholes in bypassing the authorities of the U.N. Security Council for the use of force without its sanctions”.
Such attempts are being made under very different pretexts, the president said at a scientific conference of the Russian Council on International Affairs. “The arguments are simple – we cannot agree in the United Nations, which means it is not perfect. Let us agree to act on our own for the sake of peace and democracy. Where is the supremacy of international law here?” the president asked.
