MOSCOW, March 23 (Itar-Tass) — An imam of the central mosque of Buinaksk and a policemen were killed in a roadside blast early on Friday, sources from the republican investigation department of the Russian Investigative Committee told Tass by telephone.
They said a self-made explosive device planted on the roadside went off in Buinaksk at about 6 am, when imam of the central mosque of the city, Gitinomagomed Abdulgapurov, and a police officer escorting him were walking by. Both were killed. Besides, the explosion damaged nearby buildings.
