MOSCOW, March 22 (Itar-Tass) – Officials at Russia’s Investigations Committee have confirmed the reports on detention of Daniil Konstantinov, the leader of the Liga Oborony Moskvy /the League for the Defense of Moscow/ nationalistic movement, on suspicions of a murder.
“It’s true that Daniil Ilyich Konstantinov has been detained on suspicions of having committed a murder and the police have held a lineup and a face-to-face interrogation with him,” a source at the Investigations Committee said.
Konstantinov has been placed into a pretrial detention facility.
The man’s lawyer, Oksana Mikhalkina said earlier the operatives had smashed in a door and broken into his apartment to arrest him.
She indicated that Konstantinov is suspected of killing a Slavic-looking young man last December.
“Tomorrow /Friday, March 23/ the investigators will file a petition for arresting Konstantinov,” Mikhalkina said.
