VOLGINSKY SETTLEMENT, Vladimir region, March 21 (Itar-Tass) — Russia will fulfil its obligations on the construction of the Belene nuclear power plant, Rosatom Corporation head Sergei Kiriyenko said.
At the same time, Kiriyenko said Bulgaria should take a decision on the future of the project as soon as possible.
“Bulgaria should work out its decision. Our position remains unchanged: we won the tender and assumed certain obligations,” the Rosatom head said. “Moreover, above our contract obligations we proposed to make investments in the construction of the nuclear power plant if it is economically conditioned. All depends on the Bulgarian government,” he stressed.
“We are ready to fulfil our obligations if Bulgaria does,” Kiriyenko said.
