S Ossetia parliament approves resignation of general prosecutor

TSKHINVAL, March 21 (Itar-Tass) —— South Ossetian parliament approved the resignation of Prosecutor General Taimuraz Khugayev. “The deputies voted for his resignation at a parliamentary meeting on Wednesday. Some 21 deputies voted for his resignation, five abstained,” the press service reported.

Taimuraz Khugayev stated about his decision to leave the post of the general prosecutor on Tuesday, March 20.

Khugayev’s resignation was one of the clauses of the agreement, which was signed between the former president Eduard Kokoity and the former presidential candidate Alla Dzhioyeva.

Then acting South Ossetian President Vadim Brovtsev sent a request for the resignation of Khugayev in the parliament thrice, but the deputies did not consider this issue before Wednesday.
