MOSCOW, March 21 (Itar-Tass) —— Three officers from the investigation department of the Russian Investigation Committee that did not take retaliatory measures over illegal actions of policemen in Kazan were fired. Chairman of the Russian Investigation Committee Alexander Bastrykin has taken the foresaid decision, spokesman for the Russian Investigation Committee Vladimir Markin told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

“Upon the results of the hearings in several criminal cases and a report of a committee of the central staff of the Investigation Committee that works in Kazan now Alexander Bastrykin has taken several tough personnel decisions against the officers, who showed negligence and procrastination in taking retaliatory measures to illegal actions of the police in Kazan,” Markin noted.

“In particular, it was decided to dismiss from the Investigation Committee chief of the central inter-district investigation department Igor Gataullin, his deputy Marat Ziganshin and criminal detective Airat Kharisov. Several other officers of the investigation department in the republic of Tatarstan were reprimanded,” he underlined.
