MOSCOW, March 20 (Itar-Tass) —— Germany’s major car manufacturer Volkswagen plans to raise its sales on the Russian market by ten to 15 percent to 250,000 cars a year, Director General of the Volkswagen Rus Group Marcus Osegowitsch said on Tuesday.
In 2011, the company sold 233,000 cars of the German brand in Russia, he said.
In April-May, Volkswagen will make a decision on the construction of an engine plant, Osegowitsch told reporters on the sidelines of the 15th conference “Russian Automobile Forum.”
In his words, the company consider four regions of Russia as future construction sites.
Proceeding from earlier reports, Volkswagen’s engine plant may be built in the Kaluga region or the Nizhny Novgorod region.
