Baikal garrison prosecutor's aide accused of attempted 200,000-rouble fraud

Rachinsky was detained in October, after receiving 200,000 roubles through an intermediary

MOSCOW, March 20 (Itar-Tass) — Senior aide to military prosecutor of the Borzinsky garrison Major Bogdan Rachinsky has been accused of attempted fraud.

"It was ascertained that Rachinsky told a person who was under criminal prosecution that he would support the prosecutor at the trial," the press service of the Investigative Committee’s Main Military Investigation Department /GVSU/ told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

"Rachinsky priced his services in meting out the minimal punishment for the defendant at 200,00 roubles," the GVSU said, "but in actual fact he could not possibly known who would support the prosecutor for the state as preliminary investigation into the criminal case had not been finished yet."

Rachinsky was detained in October, after receiving 200,000 roubles through an intermediary. He was charged under Article 30, Part 3 and Article 159, Part 3 of Russia’s Criminal Code /"attempted fraud committed by a person using his office position"/.

Rachinsky is on recognizance.
