ST. PETERSBURG, March 20 (Itar-Tass) —— Two people died in a fire, which broke out on the premises of the former LOMO plant in St. Petersburg on Tuesday.
“The charred bodies were found on the fire scene. Identification is in progress,” a source in the city emergency situations department told Itar-Tass.
The fire was confined at 1:30 p.m. Moscow time. Forty people were evacuated.
A furniture workshop and the roof caught fire on the area of 1,300 square meters in the three-story industrial and storage building. The fire started at 11:58 a.m. Moscow time. Twenty teams of firemen were rushed to the place.
