SAMARA, March 20 (Itar-Tass) —— The Togliatti hospitals began to check out the children, who were hospitalized will dairy food poisoning. Four babies were discharged from hospitals, the parents of another four babies refused from hospitalization, the regional government’s press service reported on Tuesday.

“Some 29 children are still hospitalized, they are estimated to be in satisfactory condition,” the press service said.

First addresses to doctors began back on March 13, when 14 children fell ill. The sick children had the symptoms of an acute gastroenteritis: running temperature up to 40 degrees, vomiting, dizziness and weakness. Some 46 poisoning cases were reported, 37 children were hospitalized to the infectious disease hospitals.

Governor of the Samara Region Vladimir Artyakov put the investigation into the massive food poisoning case of children under his personal control. The criminal case was opened for works or services, which violate the safety requirements for children under six years.

The detectives found that the infected sour cream and yogurt caused the poisoning of children in Togliatti. The distribution of the foresaid batch of dairy products was stopped, the dairy shop was suspended. According to the preliminary reports, the rotavirus was found in a female employee of the dairy shop. The rotaviral infection was confirmed in 32 children in the laboratory tests.
