MOSCOW, March 20 (Itar-Tass) — Chief of the criminal investigation department at the Dalny police station in Kazan, Tatarstan, Ainur Rakhmatullin and special detective of the same station Amir Sharafullin have been charged with exceeding their authority and use of violence and special means /Article 286 of Russia’s Criminal Code/, Investigation Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
"The police are accused of illegally using force against Oskar Krylov, who was brought to the Dalny police station in October 2011," Markin said.
A large-scale check into the work of Dalny personnel was launched after the death in hospital on March 11 of detainee Sergei Nazarov. The investigators said Nazarov had been abused by police station personnel.
