MOSCOW, March 20 (Itar-Tass) —— The US government does not fund and will not fund Russian political parties, movements and politicians, US Ambassador in Moscow Michael McFaul said in his Twitter microblog on Tuesday.
“The US government does not fund and will not fund Russian political parties, movements, candidates or politicians, only exchanges and non-partisan NGOs,” the US diplomat said.
Several days ago in his speech at the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington McFaul noted that the United States is ready to make allocations for the support of the Russian civil society. A special fund may be created for this purpose.
