ABU-DHABI, March 19 (Itar-Tass) — Three Russian citizens have been arrested and brought before a criminal court in Dubai (United Arab Emirates – UAE) on charges of stealing of 500 thousand US dollars from a safe of a local company, Director of Dubai’s police criminal investigation department Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri told the Gulf News newspaper. According to him, on March 13 the police received a call from a company employee who said that two unidentified men beat her at gunpoint, tied her up with a telephone wire, after which broke a safe and stole money.
The police found the robbers in eight hours. They managed to find out that one of the employees of this company - a citizen of the Russian Federation, was an accomplice in the robbery. During questioning of the company personnel he gave false testimony about his whereabouts at the time when a large amount of cash was received by the accounting department. During the interrogation the employee confessed to the crime and led the police to two persons who committed the robbery. They were arrested in a Dubai hotel, where they were caught red-handed when they were sharing out the stolen money. The cash was divided into three piles.
According to the criminal police officers, all the three have confessed to the crime.
