KRASNODAR, March 17 (Itar-Tass) —— The governor of Russia’s southern Krasnodar Territory, Alexander Tkachyov, has said that he is prepared to do everything in his powers to bring Russia and Abkhazia closer together.
President Dmitry Medvedev on Friday appointed Tkachyov special presidential representative for Abkhazia.
“The president appointed me a special representative for Abkhazia. This implies great responsibility, of course,” he wrote down in his microblog. “As a citizen of Russia and honorary citizen of Abkhazia I shall be prepared to do my utmost to bring our countries closer together,” Tkachyov said.
