PYATIGORSK, March 16 (Itar-Tass) —— Three militants were destroyed in Kabardino-Balkaria. As ITAR-TASS learnt at the Main Department of the Russian Interior Ministry for the North-Caucasian Federal District, officers of the department jointly with the Federal Security Service tried to spot a Mercedes car for a check near the settlement of Baksanenok on the border with the Prokhladninsky region of the republic. “A car passenger threw a grenade at law enforcers. The shooting continued for 10 ten minutes,” a representative of the press service of the department said.
None of the law enforcers was injured.
Three men who were in the car were destroyed. A submachine-gun, two pistols and two explosive devices were found in the car. One of the killed passengers had a grenade on him. Sappers were called to the site of the incident. The identity of the killed men is being established.
