Kazakhstan to manufacture ZAZ Chance cars jointly with Ukraine

It is planned to turn out more than 3,000 ZAZ Chance cars in 2012

ASTANA, March 16 (Itar-Tass) —— Kazakhstan plans to launch the production of ZAZ Chance automobiles with a base price of 8,990 U.S. dollars, a spokesman for the Kazakh ministry of industry and new technologies told Itar-Tass on Friday after a meeting between Minister As Isekeshev with top executives from the Zaporozhye automotive plant, the AllurAuto group of companies, and the Kazkhstan-based AgromashHolding plant.

“The meeting focused on the implementation of the joint Kazakh-Ukrainian project for the production of AZA Chance cars, and prospects for the establishment of a large-sized spare parts production line in Kazakhstan,” the spokesman said.

It is planned to turn out more than 3,000 ZAZ Chance cars in 2012. With a basic price of 8,990 U.S. dollars, it will cost slightly more than 13,000 U.S. dollars full optional. Thus, according to the minister, the country “has launched the production of affordable motor vehicles.”
