MOSCOW, March 15 (Itar-Tass) —— The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and the State Duma have agreed about specific ways of cooperation, Alexander Zhukov, the first deputy speaker of the State Duma, said on Thursday after the meeting of the leadership of the Chamber and of the State Duma.
He stressed the importance of the fact that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry would participate actively in drafting laws. He said that the initiatives made were related to taxation, amendments to laws that could improve the investment climate and support for small enterprise, the directions in which legislation should be perfected in view of the changing economic conditions in the country. “It is extremely important to deputies to know the opinions in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and to have its support,” Zhukov said.
Sergei Katyrin, the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, too, noted that “there is every reason to expect that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the State Duma will be able to work successfully.”
